About the job

We are seeking an experienced construction specialist who can oversee the timeline and deadlines for small projects that incorporate reading blueprints, directing teams, building equipment and installation as a subcontracted element of an overall construction plan. We are looking for a volunteer as construction specialist. Constant communication with work crews and customers; information sharing about concrete science; quality control and assurance monitoring of aggregate processing and concrete batching; and the verification and documentation of contractors' compliance with regulations, with an emphasis on proper specifications, materials, and workmanship

Requirements

  • Experience working with Construction and General contractors

  • Proven ability to organize and manage timelines and logistics internally and externally for multiple suppliers

  • Ability to interpret and apply requirements identified in architectural drawings

  • Understanding of OCIP,CCIP, Schedule of Values and other subcontractor requirements

  • Understanding of contractual language

  • Prior experience completing formal bid packages and/or RFQs

  • Business computer skills

  • Occasional travel will be required

  • Must have a 2.8 G.P.A. or above

  • Currently, enrolled in a College or University 

  • Be willing to commit volunteering unpaid intern for part-time 6 months or until project is completed.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field

  • 3+ years' experience in new construction and in a supervisory capacity

  • Some experience with remodeling projects preferred

  • Working knowledge of green building practices highly desirable

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once with no decline in quality control

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
